Clinic Counseling

Individual, group, couples and family therapy are provided to people of all ages at our clinic in Ventura. Our Counseling Services are non-denominational, and all are welcome. Therapists see clients who are struggling with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety and trauma. Other issues include serious illness, divorce, phases of life and adoption. Currently the youngest client is 6 and the oldest is 83. Groups are formed as needs are identified.

All Counseling Services are confidential and provided in a warm and nurturing atmosphere. Counseling services are provided by Marriage Family Therapists (MFTs), Marriage Family Therapy Interns (MFT Interns), Master in Social Work Associates (MSW Associates) and Master of Social Work students. All counseling services are supervised by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and two Marriage Family Therapists who have 65 years of combined experience.

JFS receives referrals from a wide variety of sources including Ventura County Behavioral Health, Medical Clinics and private physicians, other mental health professionals and satisfied former clients. Clients are typically seen weekly but may on occasion be seen bi-weekly or monthly. Fees are sliding scale based on income and there are some grants that allow JFS to waive fees for certain people.

To make an appointment, call JFS at 805-641-6565. You will be asked some basic questions over the phone which allow JFS to match you with a therapist. The Clinical Director will then call you to schedule the first appointment.
